Just a quick question because it's not entirely clear.

do DJ Gold members have access to lounges operated by Etihad's partners or only ones they operate themselves. Everything im reading seems to imply that it is full reciprocity and includes all the lounges on their network however that strikes me as particular unlikely in Austrliam domestic ports where their lounges are operated by QF?

If not are there any arrangements in Australian ports fro DJ golds flying Etihad? I assume that medium term lounges Australian international ports will get a shakeup as part of an international partnership restructure. frankly, if my DJ Gold got me entry into the Qantas Club under this arrangement it would be worth booking just for the sheer novelty value of it!

I got the Velocity e-mail yesterday.

I read it as if DJ gold's have access to Etihad lounges only, not their 3rd party lounges.

But, to be sure, we should ask one of the 2 DJ staff that frequent this forum, Crazy Dave or Velocity Rewards.

It very clearly states you get access to the partner lounges which include QF in SYD/BNE & MEL.

Sorry, my bad. I guess l read it wrong.

Interesting though. DJ Golds get into QF Lounge when flying Etihad? Is that correct??

This will change when QF stop code sharing with Etihad soon though???

I assume that if EY ceases a relationship for lounge access with QF then access to another lounge will be found somehow and DJ Gold might get access to the lounge. A lot of these relationships though have it that if the lounge is operated by a third party then the access is cabin based rather than alliance based.

Sounds crazy, but isa deliciously ironic at the same time. DJ Gold card gets me into QF lounge.. Love it.

I'm not sure EY will cease their lounge arrangement with QF in Australia. To be fair there is limited other options to put their premium pax. At Sydney for instance, the only lounge that would come close to comparing is NZ. I'm pretty sure if they started using SQ or MH for their F class pax, EY would not be so popular. Getting into QF First lounge when flying F with EY is a real drawcard for me... means I can not worry about maintaining my WP QF status just to use the F lounge.... (also EY F fares are around the same price as QF J.... ;-0)

I notice that no one from DJ has actually replied to this one yet. Is there an official line on this?

DJ are probably not party to negotiations regarding the contract with EY, I would imagine the arrangement is to access lounges as indicated on the website.

To gain access to the third party partner lounge you would need to be holding that airlines ticket.

Will be collating more of the info to post on our website that hopefully clarifies some more questions that are floating around.

I just noticed that Etihad have switched their lounge partner in Australia from QF to Air New Zealand.

World lounges

That would seemingly make it easier to allow DJ Gold's access.

Does make me curious - given the growing relationship between DJ and NZ - that they haven't cut a deal for V Australia to use the NZ loung in BNE yet.

Oh, and totally off topic but has anyone seen the various press reports about the coming Virgin clubhouses (for DJ, VA, VX, VS) in SYD and LAX? Seems to be in the works.

Interesting times.

I saw that in the Australian sometime in the last 2 weeks. Probably should have posted it somewhere.
