etihad points redemption in australia

Hi, I am a new member on here and I am hoping someone can help. I have earnt 60 K points with Etihad lately and would like to redeem them. A few weeks ago I saw that I could use points to get vouchers which could be used at Barbeques Galore (and Bunnings/etc). I am keen to get a new bbq so would like to get these vouchers but can no longer find them. Has this deal ended? Can someone help me find them? Thanks!

Welcome to AFF, you would need to look at the value of the miles and also what value they may have as a redemption for Australian flights with Virgin Blue. Shop vouchers are often poor value for most programs.

Thanks for the reply and the good advice. I have had a look at the flight deals also and the voucher deal was actually a really good one dollar for points value. It was a voucher through the Etihad Members site - nothing to do with V Australia. I just need to find the area where these vouchers are so I can claim them.

My reference to DJ or as you put it V Australia has got nothing to do with your points voucher offer, its more a recognition that there will be some changes within the program to reflect the new alliance with Virgin Blue, that will impact on the perceived value of the points and their redemption options locally.

Considering 60k is almost 1 and a half trips to Singapore as it stands, I would be looking for at least $1000 of value in the vouchers given its likely that you can also redeem those points for trips to say Perth soon.

Did you find out where to claim these vouchers? I've never seen any Australian store voucher available before.

I'm also trying to transfer my points to Virgin's Velocity program, seeing that they're a partner, and they have Westfield vouchers to boot. However, I don't think I can, as I wasn't a Velocity Member when I earned the Etihad miles.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
