I logged onto the EUROPCAR website and entered a quote for a 34 day rental of a Vauxhall Astra Automatic picking up and returning at London Heathrow Airport.
Because I'm presently here in the USA on vacation, the site defaulted me as "living in the USA". The quote came up as GBP1396.06 including basic coverage.
I realized that as an Australian resident I should have said I was living in Australia. I went back and made the change and the quote came back as GBP3,701.65 also with basic coverage.
Can anyone suggest why there is such a huge discrepancy in price if I say I live in Australia and not the USA? I only wanted to rent the car not buy it!!!!
