Not a new boy, just a dweller on the threshold (thx Van Morrison)....but did get my first post off today.
For what it's worth, have been to about forty countries, and had so many great experiences. Around 300 international flight sectors.
Know the secrets of bypassing immigration in Lagos, the bit about what needs to be written at the back of your passport to be able to enter Libya, as well as all the fun to be had in downtown Khartoum (none).
Any questions about Eastern Europe, fire away...ditto the CIS mobs.
Lived in Dubai for a while, pre GFC, but was there all the time on a visit visa. Great thing about going there a lot, was that one can end up - as I did - entering the country with just your fingerprint. No questions re "Cyclones", please.
Have great bsuisness contacts all 'round the Middle East, from Tehran, to Cairo to Riyadh and Istanbul.
Worked also Warsaw, Prague, Bratislava, Buda and Pest (in joke), Bucharest and Timisoara, Sofia, Istanbul and Izmir, Karachi and Lahore, all round India, Tashkent, and heaps of other places around south-east Asia and China.
Bloody name dropper, eh...
But hope to able to add my tuppence worth, particularly re eateries etc. Now being given "lung" in Ayvalik in south-western Turkey...that's another story.
Cheers, beers, readers....
