Hello Knowledgeable Folk,

Heres a curly one for those who know something about the ita software matrix search engine language.

I'm sick to death of getting search results baiting me with QF only to find that the fares are really JQ codeshares. One can do any number of fancy things with the Matrix site by using their control language, but aside from removing _all_ codeshares, which I can do, is there any way that anyone is aware of to only remove specified codeshares? I am already using / -airlines JQ to ensure no JQ flights stuff up my main search.

This is the routing code I'm using so far, and its producing generally excellent results:

/ -airlines JQ; minconnect 120; maxconnect 300

There is a way to specify the operating carrier, so, for instance, using O:JQ+ would ensure I get only JQ operated flights, but I can't seem to work out how to negate this .. to specfically exclude JQ as an operating carrier ... O:~JQ and ~O:JQ don't work and just spit out an error.

Any help/hints gratefully accepted.

You are being too fancy, ~JQ should work.

You could, I think, also try ~QFxx_x-xx_x where the x's are flight number ranges used by QF to denote JQ codeshare. This would work well for domestic mostly, where 5000-5999 are reserved for JQ codeshares (not sure if there is a similar range for Intl)

Edit: Actually I think QF200-299 is reserved for Intl JQ-ops QF codeshares

Yes, I thought so too, but it doesn't seem to. It seems to have the same effect as -airlines JQ, which is that it prevents JQ as the marketing carrier.

Cheers! I think this is probably the winner, I'll give it a go.
