Yes, I posted this in another thread (which I now can't find) a couple of weeks ago.
I had an existing QF CR redemption that would only let me select standard seats after booking. Something like US$80 each for MCE on an SFO-JFK flight.
Just by chance, I was looking at the booking and all of MCE was wide open, so selected front row and they've stuck!
Some others here went looking and were also able to select MCE (and I vaguely recall a SG included).
