Hi,

Due to a friend's wedding in Hawaii in August, we want to go to Hawaii and visit Japan as well.

I tried to book an economy returned ticket from Melbourne to Honolulu via Tokyo with Japan Airlines for August, but the price they quoted in their website is $12,926 per person (compared to Korean Air $1800 per person). Is that normal ???

I even tried to search for April / May tickets and the price is still the same.

Is their website not working, quoting the wrong price? Should we go to an agent to check the price ?

If it is the right amount, is the airline made by gold or something ?

You should have a look at an online booking site (zuji, skyscanner etc) to see what fares are available. If it can find a JL fare cheaper, I would then go hit a TA up.

Did you select Multi City in the Ticket Purchase facility.
I entered 4 sectors (NRT stopover going over & an overnight stopover on return).
That resulted in a list of available flights for each sector. For these flight choices, the price varied according to the availability of Y seating (it substitutes PE or J when no Y).

I think I request a quote from JALPak.

JAL releases discount tickets on a quarterly basis, for the next quarter. If my memory serves me right, you probably won't be able to get anything less than full-fare Y in August until at least mid/late May - at which point, cheap tickets generally go pretty quickly.
