My booked QF 846 SYD-DRW for Monday 30/4/12 is now cancelled. QF want to put me on the morning flight, but I can't get away from work before midday, and even that's a stretch.

SYD-xCNS-DRW is an option that still gets me there on time, with more SC.

What's the AFF experience on the CNS-DRW B717 (whether via Gove or not) in terms of reliability and tolerability?
I've not been on a 717 (unless it was in the Caribbean, I think, a long long time ago.)

What's the QP like these days in CNS?

Get the direct CNS flight if you can, no IFE however the meal is nice, PAYG drinks, CNS QP is nice but never any hot food and is setup for breakfast in the last hour before you board, so minimal food. Try and get row 1.

I've done the CNS-Gove-DRW flight and it's not too bad. It is a 717 so not mainline Qantas but the crew on mine tried very hard. It depends how you feel about the FIFO crowd (not making a judgement - just letting you know) but they were far better behaved than the V8 Supercars Channel 10 commentary team were in the DRW QP :)

The exit rows 14 or 15 on the B717 are very spacious & it's a 2 X 3 config AC DEF. QF1944 via GOV is usually a CNS based crew who overnight in DRW.

The non-stop CNS/DRW is a DRW based crew so they're always keen to get home. Last time I took that flight they started boarding 45 mins prior so we arrived in DRW 15 mins early.
