Bit of a mixed thread, but just thought I'd share my experience today using travel bank, cancelling flights & the virgin money 2-4-1 promo.
My situation was I had booked a return service to MEL for a business trip a while ago. My partner only recently found out that she could join me. So the plan was to cancel existing booking and rebook using the 2-4-1 (copped the $60 cancel fee, but partner gets to travel for free / as do I thanks to work)
So......
I first wanted to confirm if travel bank was an accepted form of payment for 2-4-1 promo.
1st call - no you cannot use travel bank for 2-4-1. Ok, no dramas
2nd call - called up to cancel flight, and asked for refund on my credit card, agent asked why/you can do online and use travel bank, I explained my situation, she checked with her supervisor, no...you can use travel bank. Great! (made sure the call was recorded)
*on a side not, my 2-4-1 balance was at 0 however is incorrect and should have had 2 remaining flights*
3rd call - rang to book new flight, went through all the details etc, agent goes - oh you have no remaining flights, I explain my situation, checks w supervisor, all fine to book...comes to payment time...agent - what is your virgin money details, I reply I have travel bank to use....no dramas.
