anyone else received this offer from qantasFF?

email from QFF advising me i needed 400 sc by end july to requalify for platinum, and offering a bonus 50sc for new bookings made and flown by early july.

as it stands i will earn enough sc to requalify on a planned finnair europe flight in May, but the email was a pleasant surprise and good PR from qantas.
Is this sort of offer standard practise?

thats cool... I wonder if they will offer me that to get Mrs! over the line for partner Gold this year.... hmmm

I haven't, but it has been reported by a few people over the last few years.

I had a similar offer 5 years ago which was double SCs for flights between November 15 and February 15. I didn't have much personal travel in those days and an overseas work trip as well as an overseas trip for me got me over the line to QF Silver.

Haven't seen any similar offers since....

I got offered a bonus 25 SCs with my next flight a couple of years ago. It ended up being 35 SC's for BNE-SYD  It was done in circumstances where it looked like I would not re-qualify for Platinum and this was to help me along the path. I ended with just over 1000 SCs and they comped my without any further action.

Here is the email. I also got it the other week and have since booked flown and been credited with the SCs already.

I still need 320 by June 30. Any bright ideas on how to get them? I have clients in Bris and Melb ......

Also, I have been on Platinum for around 5 years and got comp'ed last year for the first time. Has anyone been comp'ed two years in a row for not making the cut? They made it clear they wouldn't do it again .....

Thamks in advance.

Yep. It's always a good idea to skim through the forums prior to making a new thread.

And its a good idea to have threads on different topics, one is about a bonus 50SC for the next flight while the other is talking about 2X SC's after registering for the promo over a set time. Sure they could be put on the umbrella of "Qantas incenting people to fly more with extra SC's" but as they seem to have two different incentives with two different actions required I dont see much in common. But I am sure the mods in their wisdom will help make it all clear :)

^ that is why I posted in this thread which was exactly like my offer vs the other which was trying to get the "wife" ....

Yes there are reports of people comp'ed Platinum 2 years in a row. One of the reports can be found here.

Is this forum doing an RFS feed to Qantas FF?

Got this email this evening ... :D FREAKY !

Hello James

As a valued Qantas Frequent Flyer, we're giving you the opportunity to earn double Status credits each time you travel on eligible flights with a Qantas (QF) flight number between 1 April and 30 June 2009*.

With double Status credits, you'll be closer to keeping the benefits and privileges of your Platinum Frequent Flyer membership for another year.

How do I keep my Platinum membership?

To keep your Platinum membership you need to earn 1,200 Status credits by June 2009. You have 890 Status credits as at 2 April 2009. Your flights this membership year must also include at least 4 eligible flight segments on flights with a Qantas or Jetstar flight number on your ticket.

With double Status credits, you could quickly accumulate the Status credits you need. For example, you could earn:

Return travel Fare Status credits earned Normal Offer period Melbourne - Brisbane Discount Economy 30 60 Adelaide - Darwin Economy 80 160 Perth - Sydney Business 160 320 Sydney - London Premium Economy 240 480

sadly with over 2200 SCs ytd I don't think I'll be getting this email

It would be great to know the criteria used to target people. I have just under 1200 SCs with 2 months to go and did not receive the offer. Not really interested in partner gold but I would like to get closer to LTG....

Can anyone who got the offer confirm their anniversary dates are within the periods nominated to give us some idea of the slection criteria?

I noted in another thread that the 50SC bonus was offered in Feb (May requalify) when I had 600SC to earn. SYD - HKG and SYD - ZQN both in J left me with 200SC to go. Then my last SYD - MEL trip saw me earn 2000 FF points and 90 SC:)

I haven't (yet) been offered the double SCs, but I'm open to the offer:cool:
