Very enjoyable time in an apartment, space and comfort levels equal or better than SQ suites. Staff very attentive but not as warm / personable as staff in the SQ cabin. The big plus in the EY offering for me is the ability to have your bed made and then still be able to sit in your seat. This is a real luxury.
Food and wine fantastic, Bollinger champagne served, having a steak cooked to order by the onboard chef is highly recommended. No problems eating at different times and the onboard chef was fantastic.
I do like the book the cook option that SQ offers and would like to see EY offer a similar service.
Having two bathrooms for first / apartment guests gives a great ratio, one bathroom fitted with a shower, basically the same deal as Emirates. Both apartments are ample in size yet much smaller than in Emirates first, due to the presence of the Residence, which was empty on both sectors that I flew.
The quality of the blankets offered is superb, the pyjamas are OK and the ammenties pack I found to be dissapointing.
The EY Apartments certainly raise the bar in terms of space and cabin features for a first class cabin, it just does not have the same feeling / romantic notion as flying SQ suites.
