Hi,

A bit of a stupid question, but was unable to find anything with a quick Google search.

I'm flying from Buenos Aires (EZE) to Madrid (MAD) via Frankfurt (FRA) on the same ticket. My transit time in FRA is fairly short - and I just wanted to check if I'd be required to go through customs/immigration as I'm entering the Schengen Area? I've heard some airports have 'Schengen Terminals', and I'm guessing those don't have immigration checkpoints - so I'm unsure if I'd need to do this upon entering Germany?

I could just be imaging things - and it's all just a normal international connection? Thanks in advance!

Ok, I may now have answered my own question, with what I found on Wikipedia:

Terminal 1 is the home of Lufthansa and the Star Alliance airlines. Terminal 2 is for all other airlines. Terminal 1 is separated into Concourses A (inside Schengen passport control), Z (the level on top of A, Non-Schengen passport control), B and C. Be aware that if you are changing planes to an international flight on a Z gate, you will be required to go through a checkpoint where you will present your passport for an inspection and exit stamp before you access the concourse, and plan accordingly.

This only mentions exiting the Schengen Area - so still unclear if there's going to be some extra things to get sorted before I continue on to the gate of my next flight. I'm guessing this doesn't include luggage collection and checks though?
