My experience getting the Ezy Card:

Date Applied: Tuesday 21 February 2006
Requested Doc's Sent: Wednesday 22 February 2006
Date Approved: Thursday 4 May 2006
Received Card: Thursday 11 May 2006

Days Elapsed: 79

At least they're efficient...

But then, from what people have posted from their experiences with the process, I was expecting it.

Compared to the NAB:

Applied online on a Sunday, card in hand by Thursday.

Ok, having an existing account does help.

As a customer of both at least Ezybanking is cheap compared to most NAB with decent rewards - don't forget that you can get up to 300 Exybanking points per month for each of 2 ezyaction cheque/savings accounts if you have a balance of $3000 in each - lousy interest rate but decent way of getting QF miles without thinking.

I did send an email to our friends at EzyCard - as follows:

I did have a EzyCard until recently, I cancelled it because of rumours sweeping the Internet that the arrangement with CBA was to be curtailled.

Thank you for your recent email to the Commonwealth Bank's Email Support Team.
In regards to your enquiry there have been changes made.
1. Woolworths is able to promote banking services, apart from credit cards or deposit accounts, separate from the Commonwealth Bank
2. From 2007 Woolworths will also be able to promote credit card services separate from the Commonwealth Bank
1. All current services remain in place
2. There is no change to services available in store
3. There is no change to services available from the Commonwealth Bank

They've stopped new applications for the Ezy Mastercard. Looks like it will be "grandfathered" for current card holders.

Will be interesting to see what Woolies does in the "banking" arena over the next few years...
