Family points transfer 600k max

I'm a bit confused by what this means: "Unlimited number of transfers in any 12-month period, up to a maximum of 600,000 Qantas Points"

If someone has transferred to me 300k points and I transfer 300k points to another family member over the last 12 months, does that mean I have reached my max of 600k points for the year?

Or can I transfer up to 600k points to others over a 12 month period, regardless of points that have been transferred to me.

The limit is per person and applies to outbound transfers only. There is no limit on how many points you can receive.
