probably a stupid question re family pooling, however Ill throw it out there.

For example,
Say you have three adults in a family pool.
Person A pools to Person B, and Person B pools to Person C

All three travel one day.....do all points/SCs end up with Person C? Given A pools to B, would these points/SCs earned by A be pooled onwards to person C? In effect person C would receive all points/SCs for the three.

I would assume not, but wanted to double check!

I'm pretty sure if you're having stuff pooled to you, you can't then pool it to someone else, otherwise the program would be far too easy.

Simple answer is that's not possible. You can have a maximum of 2 people aged 18+ in your family pooling group. That includes the person being pooled to.

You can, however, change as often as you like. I believe the pooling active on your activity date takes precedence. (eg. you and number one child are pooling prior to the 24th then you change to pooling to your spouse on the 25th. If you had flown on the 23rd, the flights will credit as per the earlier pooling... even if you submit a retro claim the following month.)

you can only have one person over 18 pooling to you, pooling A - B - C would be a good way to circumvent this somewhat. On that basis it's probably a no. Somebody else I am sure will have the answer.

Snap. Beat me by 14 seconds. :)

I found the link:

http://www.velocityrewards.com.au/content/Info/FamilyPooling/index.htm

In the T&Cs the exact wording is (Just the relevant provisions):

(a) A maximum of two Members of the Pool may be 18 years or over in age.
...
(h) A Member with a Beneficiary Account may only participate in one Family Pool but is entitled to perform Points Transfers in accordance with clause 11.

Thanks everyone.

I assumed it would not be the case as yeah it kinda makes family pooling way to lucrative. But there was just that tiny bit of me that thought if I dont ask, you probably can do it & i'm missing out on all these potential points/SCs.

Cheers!

Not to mention as soon as someone is pooling to you the option for you to pool to someone else disappears.

Can I seek clarification on this?

How long to make the change.

Eg, say we have a Saturday flight that I need to be pooling active (current status).

Then a Monday flight where I need pooling inactive.

If I unconnected the family transfer on Sunday will that mean Monday credits separately (no pooling)?

IME DocJames, it's immediate, so the second you stop the connection it stops working.

FWIW, here is the email I received last time I canned pooling. This appeared in my inbox a few minutes after I clicked the cancel button.

As thegurio said, it appears to be instant.

I am sure I know this answer but just wanted to check.

If a non-status member is family pooling to a status member does the status bonus apply to their flights? From my account it would appear the status bonus does not apply.

No status bonus - you get their calculated earn rolled in to your account.

Btw, the switch between flights worked perfectly.
