Fantastic Qantas flights

Just home today after a fantastic result for my first attempt at utilizing some
frequent flyer Points ( even better as some were transferred to me... Thanks hubby)
Qf 127, on the A380, 2 bookings, one for the teenage children / economy booked.
Other booking for me, premium booked, with a request for a business upgrade. I left the
children in economy, as being a day time flight, they were happy to watch movies the
whole way. I thought I was very lucky when I got the sms message to say upgrade confirmed
the night before the flight. So after a quick stop in the lounge, and a kiss for the kids, off I went.
Also got to meet another AFF
member....nice to meet you John, hope you had a great holiday too.
QF 128, last night, I thought I'd try again. This time for myself and the children.
Would you believe, the morning of our flight, sms arrived...myself to business, and the
children to premium. Oh, yes, this time we could all be happy together. So, not sure what
Planets aligned next, as both my girls boarding passes beeped red at the gate....new
boarding passes given, so I thought, oh no, they are back in economy....but no, up to business
they came with me.
So, I thought I'd share my story, as it's never happened to me before.
Strange, or just very lucky, or just how the numbers are on the day??
Whatever it was.....thank you, we totally enjoyed every minute.

Great to hear you had wonderful success with the upgrades especially the op-ups for the kids.

I must have been the lucky recipient of your premium economy seat after your first upgrade success. Really, really weird flight as I had 3 different CSMs greet me on more than occassion.

It was a pleasure to meet you and thanks for leaving your comfortable business class seat to come and say hello. Holiday has been great and relaxing and I have a couple of days of flying around in circles now before heading back to reality.

Bit different to my experience on QF9 on 1 Oct, which was ordinary. So great to hear of variations.

Sounds like a wonderful experience!

You benefitted from the new upgrade to the gate system. School holidays probably also helped op-ups from J -> F, which in turn saw your children upgraded.

How funny....I just checked iCloud photos & there are lots of photos of the girls sitting up like little queens, holding the precious boarding passes.

No kiddin' - and whats more that will be the part of the holiday they will still be raving about for years to come.

You have single handedly started your kids down that wonderful path we all here now tread on a daily basis - not the Yellow Brick Road - rather the Frequent Flyer Point Road - their lives will never be the same.
