Apartment about a 5 minute walk to the town gate. We were booked for 4 nights at a very cheap rate & were impressed by the facilities. Ours was one of several apartments that were located near but separate to the host's main house. We were to enjoy a 1 bedroom (pushed together very comfortable king size) with individual doonas. There was a small but efficient kitchen that boasted a fridge, oven, microwave, coffee machine etc & the German’s continue to impress with their ability to fit everything into a small space. There is a dining table, small lounge, satellite tv ( French Open tennis available). Also we have a bathroom with a great shower with plenty of hot water & the apartment is finished off with a neat little, flower adorned balcony that provides the extra space & fresh air that you often miss in a hotel room. The hosts are very friendly throughout, provide day travel tips & are overall ideal hosts-we were greeted with a cake, bottle of beer & bottle of lemonade on arrival.

Very nice. What is there to do in this town / why were you there?

Perhaps you'd share how you booked (air bnb or similar?) in case anyone else wants to book there.

It is linked in to my trip report & I will be posting details of the Gengenbach section today. It was booked via the towns tourist dept web site-we found they were good sites for doing comparisons
