Hello,

I'ld like to make a booking using points + pay during the 15% off sale. However I am 5000 points short (need 79800 points in total).

I tried asking family, but they don't have enough. I also looked at signing up to a card but the T&C's all say 60ish days for a credit of the points.

Am I out of luck? Anyone got any tips on how I might earn 5000 points within a few days? Or has anyone applied for a card and received the points within 2 weeks?

Thanks in advance for any tips :)

Gordon

You could pay to top up points up to 15% is allowed for reward. Or fly somewhere!

I am assuming your Qantas frequent flyer. If so, log into QFF there is a button that says 'using points calculator' select then on the left hand side at the bottom of the list is the option of 'top up points' instructions follow.

If you've got an AMEX, donations of $150 or more to MS (http://www.mssociety.org.au/amex/) get you a bonus 5000MR points. (Amex Bonus Rewards | Partner - sclerosis)

Mine were credited within two days, however you might not be so lucky I guess.

Not bad considering $150 will translate into a real cost of under $100 for most after tax deduction, and what a month to do it!

Thanks, I dont have an amex. But thinking I can apply for one and either maybe the 7500 points come through in time, or this does. Double my chances :)

What status are you?

A VA WP would earn 5000 points simply by flying domestically on a $500 fare - that's a cost of 10¢ per point.
