Being a novice at buying/pooling FF points (AA 30% bonus points offer until June 13) - I am trying to get:

3 adults dep SYD Dec 27 Arr LHR and either dep MUC or LHR Jan 24 arr SYD and
2 adults dep SYD Dec 27 Arr LHR and either dep MUC or LHR Feb 3 arr SYD.

Currently have 140,000 Velocity, 100,000 QFF, 20,000 Enrich also about 250,000 Citi points.

Wondered what could be achieved with buying AA points?

Flying economy is fine.

No mainland China airlines nor Garuda (as Garuda now have 13 hour+ wait each way and via AMS).

BTW - I had earlier in Feb booked Garuda on their announced and now cancelled B777 one stop to LGW for $1813. After they canned the flights it took from March 24 to May 6 to get refund (main delay was Sydney internet/phone travel company delaying payment).

I've had a few attempts over several days(weeks) with no real joy (seems more expensive than best fare using BA rtn LHR approx $2,400 with side trip LHR-MUC thrown in).

Several weeks back I put three of the "Get 40-70% off business/first class'' groups out of the US to the test to see what they could do. Very poor result. Best was 15% off list price for 2 of 3 and 1 of 2 using Thai. One of the 3 groups would not bother unless I said how much I would pay (a bit like Kitchen companies refusing to give a quote unless you say what you're prepared to spend and then their quote mysteriously comes up +/- a few per cent of that amount).
