Hey guys,

In a bit of a sticky situation.
Have booked flights BNE -> NAN for Feb 4..... and also 7 days accommodation on Coral Coast.

We were hoping to stay a little bit longer, and as such waiting for confirmation from work about time off before booking flights home.
Floods mean we're now second guessing the whole trip. It seems there is a decent chance the roads will be under water.

What would your advice be?

We're going to have to pay Virgin $100pp to cancel the flights booked, as the airport's still operational and flights still on schedule. Waiting to hear back from the hotel.

On the other hand, if we're booking return flights, we really need to do that in a hurry (and on that note, what would accrue more QFF points... a QF flight booked through QF's website (operated by Air Pacific)...or the FJ flight itself? Am also presuming Qantas' refund policy might be more friendly, but this is gut instinct and little else.

Cheers
bc

(and yes, I'd feel more than a little poor doing nothing much for 7 days while others in the nation are homeless and in major strife ... but at least going would be better than pulling out of the trip I suppose)
