Hi Everyone, I have been researching options for flying our family of 4 from either SYD or MEL to LAX. As my husband is Gold I checked today and could find 3 business seats to LAX via NAN on Fiji airways. That’s ok, but I would need to purchase a business seat for myself. When I look at the business sale seats it says they have 3 seats at that price.

My question is .. are the 3 seats the Qantas reward seats? Or will the sale fares be different? I don’t want to book 3 reward seats to find out that there are no sale seats left.

How do I find out if they are different?

Looking at NAN - LAX on 24/06/2025 in this example.

Thank you in advance

They should be seperate. Maybe just an odd coincidence for the 3 and 3?

Pretty sure there’s usually 4x reward seats released in Biz on many flights (so probably one already taken) but I would have thought that there would be more than 3 “sale” fare seats if there are still award seats available. 🤷‍♂️

Someone with a paid EF account can be more specific on available fare buckets.

They come from different inventory HOWEVER buying a revenue ticket may well reduce reward space. It all depends on the algorithm settings for the flight(revenumanagement rules), how many seats are sold and available etc.

If I were you, I woukd grab the 3 rewards and then look for the paid seat (,or even another reward if you got very lucky).
