Ok
I whinge about Wagga airport a lot , but today when i checked in , i got FIRST stickers on my luggage for my trip to Sri LAnka

Not that it will matter because the last leg is with emirates , but in teh past i have varied from standard to business tags to nothing.

big Kudos to the Wagga ground guy (who told me he had been trying to order them for years)

Take this as a huge positive feedback for whoever the Qantas admin lurkers are in here

It was only a small thing but it made a difference to me

Now that it matches my successful upgrade i am very happy!

I get all sorts of tags on my bags, but my bags come out randomly. or get lost. I think that for passengers taking a single leg, the baggage handlers might put all the Priority/Business/First tagged bags coming from the checkin counters in a separate bin, but incoming transfers just get chucked in with the regular wash as they arrive.

One possible benefit is that on the first flight priority bags would come out first and have a greater chance of making the onward connection.

Just my personal observation. Maybe I should take more flights that aren't part of a multi-sector marathon...

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

coolumbla, know where you're coming from! At many regional airports priority tags aren't given a lot of thought. And from the mindset of sending a Dash 8 to SYD (or wherever), they make no difference for a pax collecting luggage if they're just taking that flight - as the luggage all comes out together (maybe for the Q400 this is different??). If there's a connection involved to a much bigger plane that's where the difference comes in , particularly to international or PER flights where priority luggague usually seems to get priority. I suspect the agents often forget that.

there are 2 things here dajop
One is that when connecting on it makes a difference(although when i was waiting and waiting in colombo this morning the first tag had somehow disappeared!)
the second is that on smaller plane when the decisions are being made as to which bags don't come on this flight the priority ones get to stay on the plane (allegedlY)

Flew HNL - SYD in business four weeks ago. It was 10 minutes after the first bags appeared on the carousel before any business tagged luggage came through and another 10 minutes before mine appeared. With regard to country airports, I find the service generally of a higher standard than at the majors. It's great if you have arrived on a Dash 8 or Saab 340 for luggage collection
