G'day! Finally posting after many years scrolling these forums. Making my first trip to Japan (JQ ex MEL) to enjoy the skiing in Hakuba this week, with a few nights in Tokyo. Any suggestions to burn away the time time while in Tokyo?

Cheers :)

Welcome aboard!

It's been many years since I was last in Tokyo so I'll leave that to the others here.

Welcome to AFF koleje - seems to be a few first posts today

Hi, This is my first post after also scrolling through for years. hopefully going to Hawaii in February 2016 for belated 60th Birthday and 40th wedding Anniversary. Am wanting to fly with a flat bed due to a disability.Any suggestions appreciated.

Welcome to AFF SueKekwick. Hope you have a great 60th b'day trip away. I tried but it just didn't happen. 40th wedding anniversary...were you a child bride? That deserves something special too. I hope it all works out. Lot's of reading to do before then.

Thank you prozac - I sure have a lot of reading to do. Hopefully we do get there. Certainly was!!!!

Welcome. Which airport will you be flying from? (That will help us to better answer your question.)

Between Australia and Hawaii there are 3 direct options and a few other options that involve connections.

Of the direct options, neither Jetstar nor Hawaiian Airlines offer flat beds. (Only regular recliner seats in business class.) This leaves only Qantas. Depending on the aircraft configuration on the day, you'd either get an angle-flat skybed or lie-flat suite. So, that's the most comfortable option either way. The only difficulty is that reward seat redemptions on this route are scarce, so you may end up needing to pay full price for Qantas business class if that's what you want.

Other options include Air New Zealand and Fiji Airways, but neither of them offer flat-beds in Business class the whole way to Hawaii.

Basically, Qantas business class is your best bet.

Thank you Mattg that info is very helpful. we are flying from Sydney and hoping to spend a few days on Oahu and a few on Maui.

Welcome to AFF SueKekwick!

You could always fly Qantas A380 to LAX in business/first class and then back track to Hawaii with American Airlines.

Welcome koleje & Suekekwick - enjoy your upcoming trips! Hope you pick up lots of tips/recommendations which you can share!
