First Qantas A220 revealed

Has VH-X4C even finished production yet?
I don't believe so. Bombardier/airbus has problems ramping the 220 series up as it's completely different from all the other airbus planes.

We'll probably see slow trickle as the 220 get more popular globally with a lack of competitor in the space and being a struggle to ramp production.

The A220s will start flying between Melbourne and Launceston earlier than planned. From October 14, they will operate up to 2 daily services taking over from the 717s.

The GDS has been updated to reflect these aircraft changes, although the little aircraft icon on the Qantas booking page is still listing the 717. Some flights are currently zeroed out and not on sale.

It also appears as though there are no scheduled 717 services out of Melbourne past October 13th.

That does raise the question of whether they expect both X4C and X4D to be in Australia by October, or whether the existing A220 routes are being cut in frequency to allow for this…
 
We were due to fly on the A220 from CBR-MEL on 18 Oct (QF1277), and return on 22 Oct (QF1280). But today the flights have been switched to 737s (QF959/968). It looks like they are still settling down their schedules.
 
not only front and exit row of Y are classed as extra legroom and chargable - I noticed on seat maps that rows 4-10 AC are all marked as extra leg room...
 
Pay extra $ for all of these ‘extra leg room’ seats 🤔
Doesn't that just mean the premium FF who refuse to pay for those seats and select a "normal" seat end up with an inferior QF experience to the NB with no selection who is then allocated the vacant extra legroom seats on check-in? I know this has been the essence of previous discussion but just spelling out how purverse it seems to be.
