Similarly in the US whether owned or franchised the sites seem to count the smaller subsidiaries separately.
Personally think (particularly for Qantas) you need to adjust for plane seat count.
Qantas youngest recent 'fleet age' was probably in 2006/7 when they had a chunk of very young 737s, but also a lot of older 747s.
