I've been browsing through this forum soaking up info and have gotten myself more confused

I currently have a gold st George card earning no rewards and realised this is silly when I could be earning points

The goal I have for future points is flight rewards particularly international as I am planning future trips (not interested in upgrades a seat is a seat to me) I am a bit confused as to which FF program would suit me best but both virgin/qantas look to be similar, was going to go with either the virgin flyer card or WW EDR card however have read of bad customer service/not getting points issues on both which has seen me looking at the platinum edge Amex card which has the bonus of not being locked into a FF program but then worried about acceptability so would need to back it up with a suitable reward visa or MasterCard.

What would be a good card to compliment the edge with? I don't really want to spend heaps in card fees so would there be a better single card to use over an edge/visa combo? I'll probably put about 25-30k per year on it

Bankwest Qantas Platinum Mastercard . Has the added advantage of no forex fees, particularly useful for the frequent flyer/world traveler.

That card looks great but unfortunately I think I would just miss out on the minimum income for it (65k) I'm on about 60k
