First Rex experience not so great?

Wondering if my first time on Rex is just unlucky? I’ve flown a lot over a lot of years, used to be WP for years so travel issues are known to me, but none as bad as this first trip on Rex. 4 flights, with Rex connections. So far I’ve had 2 re-schedules which eventually screwed my connection and forced a new itinerary, then a flight delay which left me literally seconds to spare for the connx (with staff seemingly clueless about my late arrival/connx), then a cancellation which forced me into an overnight stay, then (first flight out) dep delay plus arr delay today which cut my window from 1 hr to 15 mins. Other arrivals into SYD delayed by the tower so looks like my last leg also delayed BUT, is this just a bad luck first trip? Or do Rex have a lot of “lift your game” to do and my future flights are in for the same joy??

REX on time for March was about 70% but in your case it seems sub 50%.

If you like REX keep going with them and over time you'll hopefully have a better experience.

I guess the question is also what destinations and what was the day / day before’s weather like (in the network, not just your destinations) - were other operators having similar issues same day (implies although isn’t always weather). Or it’s just dumb luck.

To push this up.
Rex on time performance, rated by me, one trip.
ADL - MEL.
14:00 delayed.
15:20 delayed.
16:00 new ETD.
Not flying Rex again.
All due to late incoming aircraft.
Not happy.
Had booked a few hours into Ibis Budget Melbourne Airport.

Perhaps their performance is variable. I've now done perhaps half a dozen of their flights in the east coast triangle and all of them have gone to the plan.

One little difference to QF was a business/priority luggage actually coming out first to the belt. QF should make a humble visit to the poor cousin to learn how it's done...
