I am looking at booking a PER-NAN rtn on QF stock with fare basis KFLEXF2.

Now on the MEL-NAN leg I was looking at the QF code, but that will earn discount Economy SC. Accoring to the QFF airline earn, FJ is all Economy. Can anyone confirm what K class would earn on FJ? I assume KFLEXF2 would book into K on FJ.

Slightly OT but why would you go Y with the J specials that are around? PER-BNE (Disc Y)-MEL (J)-SYD (J)-NAN (J)-SYD (J)-MEL(J)-BNE (J)-PER (Disc Y) is around $1800.

I'm also interested in the answer about not flying J.

But to answer the question the airline earning table on the qantas website lists K on air pacific as being cabin class Economy

Link typed into iPhone:
www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/program/terms#airlineearn

Pretty surprised in the link works

The reason for not booking J is that is I am in J already on these flight and this is for the kids on my flights. There is no C D I inventory available on my return sector NAN-MEL so J is now pricing up as $3,700 and change.

What has me worried in Airline Earn is that everything for FJ is "Economy"

I believe all Y seats when flying on an FJ flight number are classed as full Y. There has been talk about this in the past.

if the fare is valid for travel on both QF and FJ flight codes, then it will be deemed as discount economy for both for the purpose of Status Credit earning.

However, note that on the QF flight number you will also earn the Status Bonus points according to your QF FF status. One the FJ flight number you will not earn the Status Bonus.

Thanks NM,

It is what I feared, I just hoped Full Y would be on the way. The V6 and V4 :) are NB so no status to earn. Just some extra SC on way to LTS :)

I reckon you did well to grab any J seats cheap on those dates!

That is what I though. But all 8 seats NAN-MEL (738) where available. C1 D1 sadly. So Mrs V8's ticket was slightly more than mine (about $150 from memory). Now is is at J6 C0 D0

I was going to take the family to NAN but now its the Hunter Valley, 48c for 4 pax BNE-NTL return took precedence over the NAN J special I am afraid. Will leave NAN for work to pay, along with POM :(!
