Hi guys,

Wanted to get some info re the 2-4-1 fares, for potential booking plans. Come the end of your card anniversary, say you have 2 unused 2-4-1 sectors. A smart thing to do would be, use them for future travel on a route you would actually travel (i.e. in my case, NTL-MEL return w my partner).

My question is....flexi fares, can the flights be changed multiple times? So say if our card runs out this month. We book a 2-4-1 on NTL-MEL for December this year. Come December those dates don't work, can we change to say march etc etc.

Obviously you pay any fare difference, but aside from that - there would be no issues in doing this?

Thanks for the assistance

I believe that the limit you run into is flexi flights cannot be moved more than 12 months from the original booking date. That is, you can book one to fly 31 Dec 2013, but that booking can never be moved beyond 31 Dec 2014... Irrespective of how many times it moves. That's standard Flexi ticket rules which will apply to a two41.

I've never done this with a two41 booking so someone else will have to comment on "fare difference" charges (if any) and how amenable the GCC are to such arrangements.

I've changed flights multiple times on a 2for 1 flexi, but they were all within the 12 months. I've been asked to pay fare change fees once (must've bought the flexis just before a price hike) but not every time.

Thanks guys! A 12 month window is more then adequate and def will travel within that time. Just nice to know you can move it as much as you want within that window.

Just regarding flexi price tickets, do they ever change in price much? Obviously it's hard to predict what virgin will do in the future, but I can on eye on the routes out of NTL to BNE + MEL and flexi fares don't seem to budge much in price even close to departure. Which is good as you won't have a fare difference to cop. Has any had any different experiences though with flexi fare prices varying?

I'm at ABX, which only has an XR (Virgin Regional nee. SkyWest) route to Sydney. FWIW I've never seen the Flexi ticket price change.

Per-Syd I managed to get a flexi return for about $680 at the beginning of the year, when they're now around the $440 mark each way. Not sure why; I didn't notice at the time that it was any cheaper, but I'm sure they used to be closer to the $400 mark each way. Maybe it's just per routes going up frequently!
