Flexible with dates??

Someone mentioned in passing that they had more options for FF Classic awards when they did not check "flexible with dates". I have been having a look and the selection is significantly reduced when you try to be flexible. Weird.

If you need to travel on a particular date, the system probably looks for more complex routings to get you to your destination (eg if BNE-LAX is unavailable, the engine may suggest BNE-SYD-HKG-LAX as an example), and present that as the primary suggestion. If you're flexible, perhaps it only shows seats where the actual flights are available without multiple stopovers... just a thought, but will be interested to see if that's the case, or if the flexible button is affecting availability of award seats on QF flights!
