Thanks Andy! I clicked Red e-Deal on the page when making a dummy booking and in the T&C it says it is treated as 'economy' for upgrade purposes.
Loading doesn't look too heavy. Unfortunately I need to fly the Friday night to maximize my time in MEL, and I don't fancy my chances of a last minute award release by CX to spend some USDM.
