Received data breach notification email from Flight Aware this morning.
Any other AFF'ers affected and what have you decided to do?

All depends on their script.. suspect they are skating around it.
And basically charging a fee for no service and hoping the passenger will be happy with whatever Qantas auto provides.

Definitely Qantas should do better with it's texts by either adding the +1.
And/or an If your phone is roaming please call the different Australian number.

Great strategy by PaulST to get a refund
Slightly OT, yesterday I received an email from FlightAware stating there had been a data breach on their system which opened up the personal details of all of their subscribers. They requested that I log in and change my password. I haven't seen anyone else advise of a similar email from them - any thoughts?

Appears to be legit.

Log onto their site directly, don't click on links in the email.

Received the same email.

Received the same email. My password is completely randomly generated so I'm not concerned about it being the same as other sites. More concerned about exactly what personally identifying information is now in public domain which wasn't previously.

Got the same email…but FlightAware has zero personal data of mine to lose. Sites like this need a way of providing unique access without requiring any personal data.
