I booked a J ASA last night that originates in Singapore. It is appearing in my bookings and the points have be deducted. But I haven't received an itinerary/booking confirmation by email. This is my first booking from an overseas port. Can anyone tell me I should expect a booking confirmation? Or don't they do that for overseas, since they probably don't need to issue a tax invoice like in Oz.

I did pay points and cash so I would perhaps expect some type of receipt. Maybe I'm being impatient and should wait until Monday.

You should still be emailed an itinerary when the flight is ticketed (plain text email, not PDF like in Aus). I don't know if award flights are ticketed by QF in Australia or via the local Singapore office. Normal paid flights are ticketed by the local office.

Your experience re text emails matches mine (ex HKG). They normally take a few days to arrive.

Normally if you book an award via the web, the local ticket office should ticket (and charge in local currency). If you call, then Qantas will normally ticket it in Sydney (and convert all charges to $A), although I believe you can still request for it to be ticketed in the local office.

Have you checked the QF web site to see if it all looks to be OK :?:

The booking is listed in my account and the points have gone so I'm assuming that it is ok. I used the email option a little while ago from manage my booking. So it seems ok. I guess a one level I was wondering about the email. But I also wondered if a PDF would be sent, based on advice here it seems not. I can't be bother turning on the computer right now to see if the CC has been charged.
Anyway, I'm pretty happy it all looks ok.

It will al be OK when you have a ticket number listed in check my trip.

In that case, the Singapore ticketing office isn't open on Sat afternoons or Sunday, so it'll be Monday before they will process the ticketing.

To OP: I would wait until Mon/Tue to see.

Those Qantas tickets ex Australia can take a few days to show up.

To me the important bit is that it is in your Qantas "Your Bookings"

When I booked NRT-PER from the Japan POS Qantas site, it took a week or so for the actual ticket to come through via e-mail. I too was stressing out at the time wondering if it had gone through correctly ;)

Looks like the ticket has come through now. Thanks for all the guidance.
