Hi AFF experts , is there any possibility for me to book flights from MEL to AKL using my velocity points. Understand the VA flights are a thing of the past but can we book any partner airlines flight using the velocity points, so far no luck finding anything on the VA site. ta

Try ADL to AKL on Qatar Airways?

Yep - VA to Adelaide, then Qatar. Might have to call up to book this if the multi-city tool doesn't work.

Otherwise, you could see if there is any Air NZ availability to book via KrisFlyer, and if so, transfer the required amount of Velocity points to KrisFlyer.

Travel when? And is AKL the final destination?
Currently VA only fly BNE/SYD/MEL to/from ZQN Queenstown.
ZQN AKL as a separate flight could be $$.
Have not read anything about VA restarting other trans Tasman flights. Nor would I expect them to in the short/medium term.

Apologies , I should have included that dates. Potentially looking at 21 - 26 Feb return ( MEL -> AKL ).

On a separate note my partner has a work thing for first two days , hence checking the options to tag along with minimal budget and to bank on my velocity points.

So in only 6 days time.
The North Island storm has had and is having a major effect on air travel.
Will take time to settle down. Some pax will delay flights by 5-10-15 days.
Even getting a revenue flight as reasonable cost will be hard. But QR with the large aircraft a hope.

Schedule
QR914 ADL AKL 18:35 01:15
QR915 AKL ADL 18:25 20:50 Maybe a little hard to get back to MEL
I don’t think ADL-AKL is a great use of points unless you have a stack of them to burn IMO. You are looking at 38k points and around $400 in charges for a route where you can often get revenue seats for around $900.
