There appears to be a mistake fare available at the moment with Business class flights from Florence to Sydney, returning to Dusseldorf in Germany available for under USD1,200 return on various airlines. I've been able to find fares on various dates in February 2017, such as this one: https://www.google.com/flights/#sea...,SYDHKG0CX100-HKGCDG0AF185-CDGDUS1AF1306;sc=b

Have a look on Google Flights or the Italian/Swiss/German Expedia websites and you should be able to find something. The fares seem to be bookable through Alitalia but can include travel on various partner airlines as well.

Edit: Also found this for USD704: https://www.google.com/flights/#sea...-ICNSYD1OZ601,SYDAUH0EY455-AUHDUS1AB7461;sc=b

What do you think chances are of changing the return flight dates?

You can bring up heaps of dates for $758EUR ($1,075 AUD) for around $1,200AUD you can return through Heathrow on Cathay.

No worries at all. I priced one up (on Google flights) for exEU mid June return end Oct for same price.

That said I can't get them to price up on Expedia or any other place...

I booked (and ticketed) FLR-FCO-AUH-SGN (stopover)- HKG-SYD (destination) - HKG-DUS for USD980 on AZ, EY, CX in J (FLR-FCO in Y). Hope it doesn't get cancelled. Then booked (but yet to ticket) DUS-CDG-SFO (destination) - LHR-FLR on AF, BA for USD700.

Not sure how you did this or on which site but in an attempt to learn something I just tried to replicate your booking on Google flights with no luck. Even trying HKG-DUS brings up the message no flights from HKG to DUS.

the mistake fare is long gone....both mine ticketed. There is definitely a flight from HKG to DUS - on CX. It's just not a daily service.

Looks like they are cancelling. Mine are still intact for now, though if/when they cancel, it's fine. I haven't booked anything further. Nothing gained, nothing lost.
