hi, I booked a saver fare in June, for a flight upcoming later this week, prior to new fare structure being announced. Previously I was able to "fly ahead" using this type of "saver" fare.
This ticket has been re-branded a "getaway" fare when I log into the virgin system.
Any ideas if this can be still used for fly ahead, even though new "getaway" fares are unable to be used for fly ahead?
I spoke to the virgin lounge today, who indicated depending on the staff member, they may be lenient (given ticket was purchased way back in June), and to also call Virgin call center to argue my case on the day of the flight. (though no guarantees).
Given no refund on day of departure, versus a known $80 cancellation fee prior to day of departure, I'm wondering what my actual chances are.
