last month fly to US on a VA ticket in VA tin in Y cabin as a PLA status; the exit seats at check-in where PLA guest are give exit rows if they are AV, well the exit seats where filled, when enquired if the people in the seats where paid exit seats, answer was no, there are few gold status members in them. I seat in the middle of a 3 seat row, usual cabin crew offer noise canceling headphones, well enquired if their was a spare noise canceling headphones, answer was no. my case in point is there is too many inconsistences with VA international. am also 1K Premier with UA, (which is the highest anyone can go within the UA empire) even on a Y cheap ticket i get upgraded to business even first classes without exception. Yet VA executives seem to be ex QF which at odds how QF treat PLA/1 in the air, wouldn't they treat PLA members to a few small amendities in the air, there is no cost to their bottom line. - this has the 6th time on VA international long haul flight where stuck in a mid seat when requested for a decent seat as PLA guest. my experience is at odds with JB and RB say about ' now your flying' experience.

Technically, that's not the highest - there is Global Services.

On international services that are not overbooked in Y without using upgrade instruments? I find that a little bit hard to believe.

Small amenities, yes, perhaps. Not the free willy-nilly class upgrades on UA, though.

Have you selected your seat in advance of check-in? I find it difficult to believe that there could only be middle seats remaining.... and six times on the trot, too.
