I am not really sure where this needs to be posted but I thought thst this was as good a place as any. I finally got to Singapore on the Roar into Singapore deal on WT+ which was about $50 more than economy. Only thing is that I can't report on the seating and service.

When my details were entered at the counter the lovely lady became confused as she thought I was in transit. No, I replied, I simply used the OLCI this morning to choose my seat. Her response was to tell me how clever that was (gee shucks  ) but that the system couldn't allocate the seat I wanted. Just as I was about to get slightly, lets say, agitated, I noticed that the boarding pass that spat out said 14D. Now knowing that my request of 28J was in WT+ this sort of said some nice things to me. Yep, an upgrade without any hassle.

The funny thing was that when I was boarding my BP wasn't accepted.
Thinking that this was a good sign, by now I was feeling optimistic and therefore hoping for an upupgrade, I expected a First Class seat. When told that I had already boarded ( :?: :?: :?: ) I then went into uh oh mode. Not to worry, all was fine and I thought that even though I shouldn't sleep on a flight that left Sydney at 15:45 arriving in Singapore at 21:50 I had to stretch out on the full length bed. Fanbloodytastic.

A moral to the story? Not sure but in retrospect I did recall trying for a seat that was already allocated after choosing my allocated seat. Could this mean that the system tries to find you the 'best' seat?

Roar in Singapore

Sully, I'm off to SIN on Friday (BA16), back again on BA15 overnight Sunday using OLCI, so I'll see whether I'm as lucky as you - last time I flew T class (SIN/LHR on honeymoon) I got an op up too, so whilst it would be nice again I'm not expecting anything).

Still, my BA points score must be up there this year, so lets see what happens :)

Good luck Lindsay. Quick trip alright. Sat and Sun in Sin?

To resurrect one of my old faves, check out Brewerkz in Clarke Quay. Great micro-brewed beers.

Cheers,
Neil

Sully, a "flying" visit indeed - fly to SYD on Thursday PM, meetings Fri AM until 1, then hop aboard. Two days to catch up with 2 clients, then back to SYD and change to BNE, arriving back 8.30am - first client meetings 10am (thankfully only 4kms from airport - time to shower at BNE QP).

Thankfully, this is my last business trip for the year. Staying with best friend in his serviced apartment on Havelock Road (helps with saving the exorbitant hotel prices), so will try it out. Dinner will be along there somewhere on Sun PM before flight back - Sat night over on Sentosa Island.
