I am not really sure where this needs to be posted but I thought thst this was as good a place as any. I finally got to Singapore on the Roar into Singapore deal on WT+ which was about $50 more than economy. Only thing is that I can't report on the seating and service.
When my details were entered at the counter the lovely lady became confused as she thought I was in transit. No, I replied, I simply used the OLCI this morning to choose my seat. Her response was to tell me how clever that was (gee shucks ) but that the system couldn't allocate the seat I wanted. Just as I was about to get slightly, lets say, agitated, I noticed that the boarding pass that spat out said 14D. Now knowing that my request of 28J was in WT+ this sort of said some nice things to me. Yep, an upgrade without any hassle.
The funny thing was that when I was boarding my BP wasn't accepted.
Thinking that this was a good sign, by now I was feeling optimistic and therefore hoping for an upupgrade, I expected a First Class seat. When told that I had already boarded ( :?: :?: :?: ) I then went into uh oh mode. Not to worry, all was fine and I thought that even though I shouldn't sleep on a flight that left Sydney at 15:45 arriving in Singapore at 21:50 I had to stretch out on the full length bed. Fanbloodytastic.
A moral to the story? Not sure but in retrospect I did recall trying for a seat that was already allocated after choosing my allocated seat. Could this mean that the system tries to find you the 'best' seat?
