morning all,
I was hoping to ask some quick questions to some experienced QF flyers.

I booked a flight back to Europe for Xmas with QF but my trip to LHR is with Cathay through HKG (suited timings and availabiity etc)

What lounge can I access in MEL and HKG flying on Cathay metal but on a QF ticket, the flight numbers on my ticket are Cathay flight number. Not been through HKG before so any tips would be apprediated.
Also is there any arrival lounge access in LHR as I have a transfer to Dublin a few hours after arrival.

Have the new CX J seat to HKG on a A330 but the older style one on the 747 to London.

Thanks a lot.

Under OW rules, with a J ticket you can access any OW Business Lounge. However, if you have an evening departure from MEL then you will be restricted to the Cathay Lounge as the QC closes late afternoon/early evening.

Regards,

BD

Are you a one world sapphire (QF gold) or above? That will dictate the ow rules.

However as you are in J you will have access to the CX lounges.

In HKG you have the wing or pier, the other ones name escapes me! The wing is updated and quite nice but your HKG lounge should be determined by your departure gate.

Oneworld have ot changed the rules regarding class of service access - you can still access any J lounge based on COS.

Didn't it change last year?? If in J only in that carriers lounge?

There was a rumour that it was going to change that was based on the wrong info being uploaded to the OW website.

Thanks all for the info, much appreciated. I am ony QF silver as do all my domestic flying with Virgin (Plat). I am on a 3.25pm flight so hopefully the QF lounge can be a option (just to check it out at least) Im doing the return LHR - MEl with QF and am lucky enough to be doing it in F on the A380.

Also was wondering if any QF WP were flying International that day and wouldn't mind guesting me perhaps into the F lounge, seen the sydney one and thought it was amazing once before. I asked in the Discussion Board: Community Connections:Meetings and Social Events:2012:December 2012 area already just to check if anyone was going to be in MEL that day. would just be a extra nice way to start of the long journey back to the motherland for xmas.
cheers
