Hi guys, dabbling in VA status and benefits therefore starting to learn and have a few questions if possible.
1. Flying delta in F, dom, non trans con. Will that get me into their lounge? (Delta one club i suppose its called?). I suspect it wouldn't just like AA? But if i had VA plat, can i get in? or still not coz that is plat medallion, not diamond i gather.
2. If i can get into the lounge, would a boarding pass do? i wont have a FF card per se because, i would have gone up a level from Oz to Lax etc.
3. If above fails, what is the priority lounge like at SEA? Much like AA? drinks vouchers, not much else etc etc?
Thanks in advance!
1) VA WP and SG (Platinum and Gold) have access to the Delta Sky Club (You're thinking of Delta One, which is their international business class cabin). You do not get access based on class of service on DL. If you have an Amex Platinum Charge card you can also access DL Sky Clubs.
2) As your AU-LAX flight will likely take 2-5 days to credit, you won't actually have your status level yet. You could try (You'll have to have the check in agent remove and re-add your VA FF number to see if it pulls the status in) but all my VA flights to the USA have taken several days at best to credit, definitely not by the time I had landed.
You will also need to show your VA card at entry (LAX are pretty good if you have the VA Global Wallet card as they've seen them before, but with no mention of VA on the card itself, some agents get confused at some smaller clubs). For this reason I ditched the card and just got the regular old VA Velocity card (opt-out of global wallet online and then call and ask for a replacement card to be sent).
If you're SG now, then you're fine anyway. See here for lounge access rules

3) Not sure what you mean by "priority lounge" in SEA but i'll assume you mean Priority Pass Lounges? Depending on the type of card you have, you can use the AS Boardroom, which isn't too bad (was there on Saturday). It's just a bog-standard USA lounge though. Complimentary basic tap beers, spirits and wines, top shelf or bottled beers are for-purchase. Food is pretty poor, so get something in the terminal if hungry.
The DL lounge in LAX is OK but nothing to write home about. I actually prefer to sit in one of the restaurants downstairs and people watch.
Enjoy DL F, I think it's a pretty good product (flying it tomorrow).
