1st time in new J class tomorrow and Virgin call centre cant answer this question.

Does any one know?

Thanks

I believe only the newest two or three Virgin aircraft have power points in Business Class, night even be three or four now as more aircraft have arrived.

Off the top of my head I think it's regos from VH-YFI onwards.... but don't quote me on it.

It's a rough guess unfortunately. I'd say you are more likely not to have power points, but you never know...

Arrived DPS. Wonderful FA crew made a memorable flight

Well Done VJ

On boarding the FA showed me the power sockets and said "sorry they are not functional yet"

Seems VJ havent spent the money to get the power going

Why am I not surpised VJ?????

It was a points booking so not as disappointed as I should be if I'd forked out cash for a business ticket

No in-seat power when it seems VA want to persist with portable IFE solutions is laughable

Stage 1 this
Stage 2 that
Samsung Tablet trial which ended months ago and no news of a full rollout

Some planes with Foxtel IFE
Some planes with nothing
Some planes with in-seat power in J

All that being said they are gaining passengers and are my preferred domestic airline

Were there actual sockets or just blanks?

I had sockets on a 738 Per-Syd a couple of weeks ago and the power was working fine.

the sockets were there but not operational.

Tablets were offered for IFE with a total of 6 movies.

Very limited choice of movies was disappointing

At least they could load more movies!

Did you test the socket or just go off what she said? I wonder why some planes have operational sockets and others don't

I've got a feeling they were set up and working, it's just the CS haven't been trained on how to use them (AFAIK) so if they don't know how to use them they'll throw up the "It's not working"/"They haven't been set up yet" excuse.

Just a hunch, because if there are power points, they should be working.

Diggerredoo I am afraid. Should have plugged the laptop in but if it was QF then seat power would have tripped with Macbook pro 17"

What training do you need on how to use a powerpoint...........

I'm no expert, but by default I think they are turned off, for takeoff & landing. So I'm guessing the crew don't know how to turn them on?
