Hi everyone,

Have scored an upgrade on flight 107 on the 747-400 to LAX tomorrow. It's my first time in First and also my first opportunity to visit the FLounge so seeking some advise

1. Have been allocated 4a and 4e, are these good for a couple or should we select something like 2e and 2f. I have heard that a window and a centre seat are good because you can actually talk to each other across the aisle
2. Seeing as how we have a 10am flight what really is a reasonable time to turn up at the lounge.
3. Can I book a massage at least for my wife at this late stage or is this flight just too early in the morning considering we have that 10 o'clock flight

Looking forward to any advise you have to offer on above and anything else you think I should know

Regards,

Nick

4A and E are not good at all for a couple. See the QF seat map here: http://www.qantas.com.au/infodetail/flying/inTheAir/ourAircraft/744ER-14P66J40W187Y.pdf You really want the E/F pair if you're travelling as a couple.

Check-in opens 3 hours prior typically, so 7am for a 10am flight is not unreasonable. You can check in using the First Check-in area within the terminal.

You should have been called for a booking in the spa. If you haven't been, perhaps give QF a call and ask them to put you through to the First lounge in SYD and they'll arrange someone in the spa to book you in.

And enjoy of course:)

How much notice did they give you when they informed you of your successful upgrade?

Great stuff - enjoy.

If you have 4E/F I would stay there.

First & CL's are the only ones that can pre-book spa treatments.....give them a call.

3 hours is A OK.....FWIW, you can check in much earlier if you are traveling with hand luggage only or transiting from another port. I've lobbed up 6 hrs before a flight:D

I also recommend the degustation meal on board:mrgreen: Don't be shy to ask for extra PJ's & amenity kits.

So 3EF and 4EF are good for couples? Hoping to score an upgrade to First later this year.
I think gold and above get notified at 24 hours?

Thanks everyone, will book one of the E & F seats. Nobody mentions 2e and f are these not as good?

Also, do I contact the lounge through 131313 or this a separate number

Hi nickfromeastryde There is a different Number,

If you are arriving as a drop off by family/taxi contact the mob. ph. about 5-10min before and someone from f counter will meet you curbside with trolley for you baggage.
It might be cutting it fine for a spa treatment with 107 leaving 10am but you might be lucky.
Enjoy the lounge and the flight.

I've flown in 3E/F with the other half. These are great for a couple. Had a look on E/F and they are available - well to me as WP...but this close to the flight you should have access to them.

Me & the Mrs did 4A & 4E and it worked fine for us. We had personal space and could still talk easily.

I would stay there.

Enjoy the Flounge & Fflight.

Sorry for not being able to offer my help any earlier - I'm a night owl so only just saw this thread. :)

If you're still chasing a spa treatment, the phone number for the First lounge is (02) 9691 2172 - just ask for Concierge to arrange a spa treatment for you. Enjoy the flight! :)

I hope you really enjoy yourself. QF F is wonderful, and worth every point/$.
One tip......pace yourself and savour every moment

would love to get a TR of this - were you on the A380 or 747?

seems to be plenty of FASA's available on the 747 in the next couple of months.
