Flying on BA with OneWorld Sapphire with another FF programme

Whats the process to select seats for free on BA if I have a QFF number linked and OneWorld Sapphire?

Currently it doesn't let me unless I pay them the GBP's...

Have you just made the booking?
If so don’t bother choosing seats.
Just finalize the booking and then go back in using the booking reference number and select seats.
It’s free to choose then.
The initial booking stages it will always try to charge you money.
 
Ah, I tried that on the day I booked. Maybe there was a system glitch that day. Thanks for your help.
