Flying Qatar using Asia miles CBR to OSL

Hi. I was aiming to book a Qatar flight from CBR to DOH via Melbourne using new flights from Oct and them carrrying on to OSL. There is availability on QFF on 14 Jun for 159000 points. When I try with ASia miles for 90000 points it lets me select flights but towards end comes up with error message "Redemption class Y is not valid on this flight date" Is htere any possibility of using Asia Miles or should I just try and stick with Qantas?

I can't comment on the relative merits of using Asia Miles or QFF points, sorry, but read around the forum & you'll see big problems using QFF points for 'partner' airlines in the face of so many schedule changes & cancellations, unless you are Plat and above and can access the Hobart call centre. This goes especially for QR, who will cancel a ticket if there is a change that is not re-ticketed within 24 hours - which the Sth Africa and Manila call centres are notorious for. See here:

I’ve booked and flown two separate business class flights on Qatar using Asia Miles this year (Melbourne-Doha-Edinburgh and Paris-Doha-Brisbane). I could book the first trip online but there was an issue with the second and I ended up contacting them via their online chat/Whatsapp service and the agent I chatted with booked it for me. If you want to use Asia Miles, try calling them or using the WhatsApp and they might be able to help.
