Hi all,

We arrive PER at 21:40 and depart for Learmonth at 05:10 the next morning on a single ticket. Given that we will need to be back at PER airport around 03:30, what is the best option for a few hours sleep?

Also, when we check in at BNE, will we get boarding passes for both legs (it's all one ticket) and will we need to collect luggage since that the onward flight is next day?

Even with check in luggage at that time 1hr max should be fine, it is self check in and luggage drop. Quest Perth Ascot is not a bad option and short taxi trip from the airport.

Vetroblue Airport Apartments offer a pick up & drop off service which is free if you book direct or $5 each way if through 3rd party. Drop offs I think start at 3am & are done every 45mins, pick ups you call but there will be a wait.

I have also used vetroblu (formally Aurum?)

Very good accommodation and the shuttle used to be prompt. Has been over a year probably now since I last stayed there.

The last few times I have been through they were booked out and have used Sanno Marracoonda. Not as good and shuttle is a bit slower but still very acceptable for a short night. Don't bother asking a Perth taxi or Uber for a short ride to an airport hotel....

I do not think they will check your bags through however you could ask.

If it's one ticket, can't you check your bags through?

Even if not, if you have a Q tag and use bag drop, an hour before departure is more then enough time.

There are a bunch of motels on Great Eastern Highway near the airport. I can't comment on any of them though. Other options is somewhere in CBD if you get a good rate. There will be zero traffic at the times you're travelling, so at most an extra 10 minutes in a car.

Possibly, I just am not sure being that it is the next day. I have not actually tried in this exact situation. I have just collected and re checked for what ever reason.

Dont do the Ibis Budget.
They say the Ibis Budget has bed bugs, and Trip Advisor says that one has bad reviews.
Maybe the Flag Eastern Highway.

Overnight, they might not allow through bags.
Also, overnight, they might not be able to issue through BP either.
Ask at BNE anyway.
I would say probably not, for either, as its overnight, even though its only a few hrs apart.
Not sure what time the airport train stops and starts, but as you are flying QF, it would be a pain to go from T3/T4 to T1 airport train station, and then back again the next day, so uber it has to be, or taxi, or hire a hire car.

Re: Flag, 20 rates as Excellent, 10 as Terrible, the Ibis is closer to the airport, but its Terrible section is probably worst.
Have a read up anyways.

Or to save money, maybe $100 to rent a car, but wink wink, just sit in the car and not drive out, or drive out, go somewhere around Perth, and then re fill with fuel and drive back.
Most motels would be closed by then, and you then have to do self check in, and usually would be $160/6 hours = $26.66 per hr, hire car, $100/6 hrs = $16.66 for 2, not a bad one, wink wink.

Just had a look see, thought the car rentals would have been a good idea, but looks like a lot of the rental car places at Perth Airport close by 10pm and dont open till 6am.
Maybe sitting outside PER T3/T4?

These are at T1, heh,
The transfer/transit bus from T3/T4 to T1 runs until midnight, and back, would be early am.
Bees knees?

$80 for those few hrs, cheapest.

I don't know. The flights being on different days is what makes me unsure. I was hoping that the brains trust would know.
Looks like we will be collecting our luggage in Perth and checking it in again the next morning since online check in was separate for each flight despite it being a single itinerary.

It's been a while.... do you still get iPads in J on B737 or is it 100% BYOD?
