Hey all!

I'm still pretty new around here but I read a lot =)

I was just wondering what most of you ff'ers do to get the best fares. I've noticed a lot of cheap fares from, say, ICN, and obviously the DONE4 and AONE4's are very cheap from either NRT or ICN if you wanted to go around that area too. Does anyone buy exclusively tickets from, for example, ICN and leave them open?

eg. I'm from Perth. If i wanted to go to DXB, I would get to ICN, get a SQ return fare from ICN-DXB on business, then buy another ICN-PER return fare, so i have a PER-ICN section open, ready for next travel.

Would love to hear people's thoughts!

thats a very long way to get to dubai.

I do take advantage of this sometimes as I am in Bangkok a lot,but live in MEL. so i get myself to bkk on a one way then buy ex-BKK to MEL with SQ usually on 60 day return tickets. saves a few hundred bucks usually

I just used that as an example~ But even if you added it up, it costs cheaper to go PER-ICN on econ, and then ICN to DXB business than a PER-SIN-DXB business class fare! And the miles =)

DONE4 pricing was revised (upwards) early this month. Starting from ICN has gone up about 20%. There is a forum on flyertalk about the price rises. Don't know where though. Not as good value as it used to be. You save about $1000 by starting in ICN, but the return flight is more than that.
