Sad news... Well for me anyway... Mercure Launceston is no longer an Accor property. Now a Best Western as of two days ago.

Arrived today and got a call whilst on the plane........ Not very helpful.

Same staff, same offerings, same livery for now (!).

Existing reservations being honored.

Rumour has it accor are looking for a replacement property in Launceston (the other being Sebel).

FYI Paul is long gone (GM) and interim GM Joe is gone too. Both were Accor.

I just arrived today, totally unaware that it had changed. Main sign on the building was still Mercure but all the small signage around the place is still Best Western.

Doesn't seem that it'll count towards my samsonite!

The Mercure Hobart is also a Best Western as of a couple of weeks ago - was told by the receptionist tonight.
At the moment they are still honouring Le Club Accorhotels points but there is also an option to get QFF points directly - looks like it is 3 points per $1.
