Courtesy of Ozbargain, it said that the Hilton Gold lasts until August 31, 2016.

However when I registered my account and my wife's, I got confirmation email from Hilton:

[h=1]CONGRATULATIONS!
We’ve matched your status through March 31, 2017.[/h][h=1]ENJOY GOLD ELITE STATUS YOUR WAY.[/h]
Then at later part of the email, I got:

EXPIRATION DATE
MARCH 31, 2018

So looks like it is matched all the way to end of March 2018 ....

This is great

My current bookings at Hilton are via Qantas so i will get QFF points. Is there a way for me to use this newly minted status and still get the QFF points?
If i just show my membership on arrival will they give me the benefits (breakfast, wifi ect)
Or is it i must credit / register with HHonours to use the benefits?

Assuming you booked through Qantas Hotels. HHonors states in terms and conditions that to get benefits you have to book directly with Hilton, however some hotels give benefits for third party stays when showing the card.

How could HH possibly know where you work, unless you provide them with that information?

Well the terms state for the 4 nights you have to use the accenture rate which requires you to show company ID on check in. Some people create fake business cards and ID's for these rates and there is a decent discussion thread on this on flyertalk. IMO this constitutes fraud so I would not condone it. I do use my own company's rate occasionally when it provides the cheapest rates.

Who said anything about creating fraudulent ID cards?...I'm willing to bet 4 non corporate rate nights would do the trick ;)

Yeah would be interesting to know if Hilton counts stays outside of corporate rates.

You could always buy Diamond off Ebay. Going for just over $100 and lasts until 2018....

Some were selling it as upgrade to an existing account and other as a merged account. I read about it on the Boarding Area website.
