Hooray..........but I hope thet have a dedicated pickup zone and exit zone in the car park, otherwise it will be a free for all. Can you imagine picking up your passenger in 5 minutes, but than having to wait for more than 10 minutes to exit the car park?

Here is my take on what the charges should be.

• 0 - 30 mins...Free
• 30 - 1hour $7
• 1h+ - 2h $14
• 2h+ - 3h $21
• 3h+ - 4h $28

Not sure why you would need to park for over 3 -4 hours anyway.
The goodwill to SYD in doing something like this would be great.

I read it as 0-14minutes = Free
15-30 minutes = $7
and standard rates from there onwards.

About time macAirport stops gouging us customers who use their exclusive carparks for very small times just for pick up!

This is good news indeed. But, I do not understand if there will be an area along the kerb side (like at the domestic terminals). Or, do we have to go into the carpark itself and pick up the pax? From reading the posts, this appears to be the case - ie no dedicated kerb side pick-up zone, and we must go through carpark for pick-up. Please correct if I am wrong.

According to the SACL web site, it seems that the first 15 minutes are free in the carpark itself: https://parking.sydneyairport.com.au/International.html.

Yes, the mechanism is already in place to charge you in the car park. This just requires a geek to the change the billing to criteria.

From their test, sounds like the latter. (Then you probably have a "reasonable" time to exit.)

I think at T1 they are the same thing. I've never seen any ticket machines except at the exit gates. But I've only ever parked there a handful of times so I stand to be corrected...
