In my excitement of booking hotels, I have mistakenly double booked an advance purchase for Pattaya Holiday Inn- Ocean View King for May 21.

I will give the reservation to the first person clutching a bottle of good grog - caveat, I must know you or have met you as the hotel is holding my CC on file and I don't want to end up paying for 34 towels, 2 TV,s and a mini bar

Why don't you call the hotel and say you accidentally booked one room twice? I'm sure, given you are actually staying there, they will waive the mistake 2nd reservation.

Agreed.

Hotels are normally quite responsive in these situations.

The other hotel I am staying in that night also advance purchase is the Conrad Bangkok

Not sure HI and HH have that close of a relationship
